Final SWARM Party

Champ, the Lake Monster mascot, paid us a visit yesterday to help celebrate a year of being kind, safe, and responsible. The children were quite taken with his size, especially the size of his feet. Our 3 school rules, BE SAFE - BE KIND - BE RESPONSIBLE, cover any behavior that we encounter here in school (and I dare say out of school as well). The children have become very good at giving "I messages" to their peers when someone has broken one of the rules and it effects them. They have been taught to use a strong and purposeful voice when telling others how they feel. For example, "I don't like it when you hop over my structure. It makes me worried that you will step on it." Try this at home . . . it sure cuts down on whining and tattling!
